Migration, Immigration, and Emigration, and their Effects on Religion, Women, and Minorities in Egypt

Introduction People relocate to new residences with the intent of attaining diverse goals. Evidently, such persons may relocate within their countries or cross their nation’s boundaries. Diverse repercussions often exemplify the livelihoods of citizenry who relocate to a novel environment as illustrated in the paper. It is imperative to acknowledge that Immigration connotes people’s relocation to diverse nations with the intent of enhancing their livelihoods. Interestingly, immigrants may move willingly or relocate since the situation in their countries may be dire.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Migration, Immigration, and Emigration, and their Effects on Religion, Women, and Minorities in Egypt specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Notably, professional immigrants engage in work processes after their willful relocation. Additionally, immigrants who reposition regularly often become refugees i n the novel nations. Emigration connotes abandoning one’s own nation of birth thus moving to another country. This rearrangement assumes a permanent dimension thus depriving the origin nations, the necessary expertise that can spur progress. Migration connotes the movement of a person from their entity of origin or part of a nation to another with the intent of engaging in diverse activities. Concurrently, migration focuses on temporary change of residence. It is remarkable that these movements culminate in diverse benefits and drawbacks to a nation or her citizens. This paper investigates the effects of these movements on religion, women, and minority entities in Egypt Overview of Migration, Immigration, and Emigration in Egypt Apparently, shifts in locations by individuals in Egypt have been evident for decades. It emerges that emigration rates continue to escalate as evident in the last four decades. Initially, legal restrictions controlled rates of emigration to curb magn animous numbers of professionals who preferred Western countries. Egypt’s adoption of her 1971 constitution, spiraling fuel prices, and augmenting requirements for the migrant workforce elicited monumental emigration from Egypt (Sika, 2010). It is notable that most emigrants still head to Western countries. Sources establish that migration to Europe is increasing. However, this process culminates in an unbalanced nature of migrants. It is evident that Egypt hosts massive numbers of migrant workforce. Similarly, the country amasses huge proportions of immigrant registered as displaced and asylum seekers from diverse countries. Interestingly, the refugees house Palestinians uprooted from their habitats during the 1948 hostilities (Sika, 2010). Further, refugees dominating Egypt emanate from â€Å"Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Eritrea† (UNFPA, 2011). It is also outstanding to mention that emigration to Europe is attributable to gender equity and elevated skill levels aris ing from professionals.Advertising Looking for research paper on social sciences? Likewise, the proliferating immigrants hardly obtain opportunities to add value to Egypt’s progress because of their dire situation. Gender equilibrium among immigrants appears inclined on women, youngsters, and the old. This emanates from the notion that, men and young boys participate in the hostile tendencies. The diverse models of movements generate concerns as regards to religion, women, and minorities in Egypt (UNFPA, 2011). Certain movements appear to escalate because of conflicts, which result from doctrine aggressions. It is evident that movements into and outside Egypt present diverse challenges to women together with minority groups (Sika, 2010). Impact of Religion in Egypt Evidently, Egyptians have historically followed Islamic decrees at expansive lengths. This has led to the sustainable peace in Egypt. Migration occurred due to the search for employment in other countries. This has persisted over decades leading to the social revolt. This calls for initiation of employment opportunities (Christian Today, 2011). The revolt facilitated President’s Mubarak defeat and subsequent ousting from power. Prior to Mubarak’s defeat, slight religious conflicts continued silently. The vacuum led to open religious inconsistencies, which competed to fill the emptiness. Muslim Brotherhood’s together with Salifists battle for supremacy thus the need to gain power. This necessitated attacks on the Christian minority groups (Mnnonline, 2011). Muslims engage Christians in conflicts because they appear unhappy with Christian followers. It emerges that religion contribute to present conflicts in Egypt thus nec essitating migration. Egypt Ethic Make up and Christian Minorities Magnanimous proportions of Egypt’s population include Eastern Hamatic tribal groups. They comprise of native Egyptians, Berbers together with Bedouins (MacDonald, Marshall Cavendish Corporation Paren et al., 2000). Apparently, this group contains tribes emanating from interactions of native Egyptians with diverse groups from Africa and other regions. Remaining population component contains minorities including Greeks, Europeans, and Nubians (MacDonald et al., 2000). The Nubians appear to have integrated within the Egyptian Arabs eventually adopting their culture. Nevertheless, certain minor groups within the Nubians still practice their indigenous Nubian cultures. Arabs entering marriages with other visitors declined immensely tensioning cultural interaction. The diverse religious groups also display certain differences. Muslims form the utmost component of Egypt population with Christians only accounting for at least ten percent of inclusive population. All Muslims hold to the Sunni decrees thus enabling their continued loyalty to Islam (MacDonald et al., 2000). Migration has contributed to expansive interaction thus augmenting the minority populations.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Migration, Immigration, and Emigration, and their Effects on Religion, Women, and Minorities in Egypt specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Muslims expansively engage Christian minorities in confrontations, which eventually necessitate migration. Muslim mobs execute attacks on the minority Christians by torching churches. It appears the violence advanced by Muslims escalated after social defeat of President Mubarak (Mnnonline, 2011). Muslims declared hostility on the Christians who converted their faith diverting from Islam. Reports show magnanimous Muslim population will continue their interest to terminate the lives of most Chri stians. This religious hostility appears to emanate from the Muslim Brotherhood’s notion of seeking power under the novel Egypt (Christian Today, 2011). Similarly, Salafists religious group also battles to gain control of Egypt. The warring factions present potentially inconceivable pressure on minority Christians. This has necessitated huge flows of Christians from Egypt to seek protection (Mnnonline, 2011). Societal Issues Migration affects women and young girls confronted with the challenges, which emanate from such occurrences. Monumental numbers of women regularly involved in these movements exude reproduction abilities (UNFPA, 2011). They confront challenges such as raising their youngsters in an unfamiliar environment, which avails little amenities necessary for reproduction. Most women emigrants also face hardship while working, in various sectors to attain income. The less skilled of them also appear to work under dehumanizing environment, which affects them psycholo gically. Further, trafficking of women and young girls also affects them negatively (UNFPA, 2011). They regularly end up suffering because of the activities their hosts engage them into executing. In most instances, women suffer diverse abuses including physical, sexual, and emotional. Traffickers force women into drugs, arranged transgressions, prostitution, tourism marriages, child sex, and unpaid wages (UNFPA, 2011). It is worth commenting that immigrant young women also forfeit schooling due to their refugee status. Furthermore, many women fail to attain their dreams and potentially successful ones never realize their potential. Underage women regularly confront enormous challenges, which apparently may cease by attaining autonomy. Immigrants into Egypt have advanced globalization in diverse ways. It is notable that the European expatriates offer diverse knowledge thus facilitating Egypt’s progress. Further, their investments within Egypt address unemployment concerns, wh ich plague Egypt.Advertising Looking for research paper on social sciences? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Diverse job openings are manifest, thus allowing skilled and knowledgeable Egyptians to attain employment thus enhancing livelihoods. Cultural interactions observed amid Arabs and exotic groups have apparently led to the establishment of generations (MacDonald et al., 2000). Intermarriages between Egyptians and diverse groups facilitate unity among races. It is outstanding to comment that immigration has elevated the Christianity following in Egypt. Though still the marginal, Christianity appears to escalate as magnanimous populations switch from Islam. In deed, this progress angers Muslim Brotherhood since they have noted the pace at which Christian religion spreads in Egypt. Similarly, migration integrates fiscal marketplaces thus massive population attains satisfaction through accessing diverse items, which are exotic to their regions. Societies emerge as greater beneficiaries because of migration incidences. Notably, migration culminates in diverse economic benefits to Egyptâ₠¬â„¢s economy. These originate from the remittances made by citizens residing in other regions. Sources indicate that the funds sent home escalates Egypt’s economic stability (Sika, 2010). It is outstanding to reiterate that professionals migrating to other countries often give rise to brain drain. This reduces the pace of Egypt’s development because of diminished expertise and human resource. Government spending on refugees also appears to increase (Sika, 2010). This results from the augmenting population of immigrants needing government attention. Conclusion In summary, Egypt has experiences assorted consequences of migration. Emigration has escalated the remittances gained from citizens residing overseas. Further, emigration has culminated in augmented suffering amid Egyptian citizens working in the Gulf nations. Immigration has generated increased population of refugees, which necessitates government commitment with the intent of sustaining their existence. It has also resulted to women and young girls facing exploitation by traffickers. Religion and its related inconsistencies appear to have affected the present conflicts. Minority Christians remain the most affected by warring Muslim Brotherhood seeking to fill the leadership vacuum. This was created after President Mubarak’s removal from control. 20 Top Minority Scholarships

20 Top Minority Scholarships SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Scholarships can be a significant source of college funding for students of all different backgrounds - if you know where to look, that is. Many top scholarships have eligibility requirements regarding financial need or academic merit, but there are also excellent scholarship programs that are specifically for minority students. Most of these programs were created in order to facilitate access to education for minority students, and many aim to help students pursue careers in which people of certain ethnicities or backgrounds are underrepresented. One of the best ways to optimize scholarship funding is to apply to scholarships with more specific eligibility requirements (requirements that you meet, of course). To help you find scholarships like this, I’ve compiled a list of awards meant for students of specific ethnic and racial backgrounds. Tips for Your Own Scholarship Search Hopefully, you now have a good start when it comes to looking for scholarships for minority students. This list of awards is just the beginning, though - follow these strategies to optimize your chances of winning the most scholarship money possible. Do Your Own Research The awards listed above are some of the biggest andbest-known scholarships for minorities, but that doesn't mean they're the only ones out there. If you do your own research, you'll probably find information on smaller or more targeted scholarships. Why bother going after these awards? The more specific the eligibility requirements (if you meet them), the less competition you'll probably have. The same goes forscholarships with smaller payouts. Try googling"scholarships in [your local area]" or "scholarships for [your specific ethnicity group]". You might be surprised at what you find! Just one caveat - beware of any scholarship applications that ask you to submit payment information or info that seems irrelevant or too private. They may be scams, so make sure an application is for a legitimate award before you submit. A good excuse to spend some quality time at your favorite cafe. Apply Broadly This piece of advice goes hand-in-hand with the last one: the more scholarships you apply to, the better your odds of winning some money. Try to submit as many applications as possible, and make sure to look into non-minority scholarships as well. You might start with 2-3 applications to "big" competitive scholarships and 5-7 applications to smaller or more targeted awards. If you can do more than that; however, more power to you! Just don't let it get in the way of your schoolwork or extracurricular activities - those are more important. Be Mindful of Deadlines As you may have noticed by reading the descriptions above, there's no standard scholarship deadline. The earlier you do your scholarship research, the more likely it is that you'll meet the deadlines for all scholarship programs you may be interested in. Try keeping a spreadsheet with all this information so you can submit applications on time. Make sure to cushion your timeline (add an extra 6-8 weeks) if you have to ask for letters of recommendation. What's Next? To continue with your scholarship search, you'llwant to look for award options other than minority scholarships so that you can apply broadly (like I just mentioned above). Surveillance and Privacy Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Surveillance and Privacy - Research Paper Example This research will begin with the statement that technology had apparently dominated the various area of business, communication, transportation, and even surveillance. Specifically, the application of technology for security purposes is continuously improving and evolving. As such, surveillance devices have been paired with telecommunication to efficiently accomplish military and civilian operations with ease and accuracy. One good example of tracking device that is being used today is the Global Positioning System (GPS) that provide users with precise timing, positioning, and navigation while using satellites to determine its location. On one hand, a beeper, also known as a pager is a good example of telecommunication device that augments chances for fast-tracking and forecasting by receiving a radio signal to initiate the process. Although GPS and beeper share a common goal for speedier connection, these two devices when paired together would be a valuable tool for surveillance an d in assisting security personnel for military operations. Moreover, as the technology of fast-tracking and navigation advances, several issues and controversy rose as to how GPS should be properly handled without violating individual’s right to privacy. Although GPS data have given much consideration in the criminal investigation, there are US states that did not consent the use of tracking devices like GPS to vehicles owned by suspected criminals or ordinary citizens without any warrant.

Business Policy and Strategic Management Research Paper - 1

Business Policy and Strategic Management - Research Paper Example If the mission statement of Starbucks is to be reviewed, it shows that the company follows a differentiation strategy where its basic aim is to produce a brand image within the eyes of its customer through the unique taste of coffee and the exclusivity of all its other products. Differentiation strategy is the opposite of the cost leadership strategy. Differentiation strategy makes the use of a firm’s core competencies to develop an innovative strategy so that a company is valued by its customer in a unique manner.2 Starbucks has done the same by building up an international model that will help the company to scale and grow in a profitable manner, the company’s uniqueness and value creation within the eyes of its customer has helped the company to pursue one of its long term strategies by opening up many stores around the globe and in 2010 the company strengthened its roots in China through this differentiation strategy and China is being considered as the 2nd largest market for Starbucks.

The New England Aquarium Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

The New England Aquarium - Case Study Example The Aquarium has a multi-year diverse plan, which explains where we are at the moment, as well as acknowledges the successes we can use. It also recommends what we should do in order to make the institution become more inclusive and diverse in intended areas and better-equipped to serve and reach the diverse community. In this memorandum, I will provide a political and symbolic frame analysis of the case study, Diversity Programs at the New England Aquarium from the point of views of the COO, Cynthia Mackey. Additionally, I will also analyze the whole organization in frames, as well as three political recommendations and three symbolic recommendations that Cynthia can implement, discussing possible ramifications of the actions. The aquarium has tried formulating policies with the aim of making it an institution that attracts the broadest audience as possible. These efforts began in one side of the aquarium, the education department to try bring different people into its folds. These kinds of initiatives were funded by the government, in which it focused on bringing together adolescents to participate in the available youth programs, in addition to being paid. The youth programs were successful but were disruptive within the institution because of the longstanding assumptions and practices that clashed with expectations and needs of other people. With such feelings running high, Cynthia Mackey who is the department senior understood the crisis and therefore, sought to find ways to resolve the tensions. The New England Aquarium should engage the broadest constituency in its efforts to protect the aquarium or rather the blue planet. A work force which is diverse should provide skill; perspectives and experiences which will enrich the available programs in the institution, add creativity, enhance the working environment and strengthen their problem solving skills. If a diverse workforce is implemented, the community will stop regarding the institution as a preserve for wealthy families because every culture will be implemented. Additionally, when a diverse community comes together, they bring in new ideas, skills and experiences, and therefore, the institution will benefit from the diverse ideas from each community. Additionally, if a broadest constituency is engaged in the preservation of the blue planet, the institution will be well represented as well as benefit from a broad perspective of each community represented. When different people, with different ideas work together, they are able to make good decisions based on each represented culture within the institution. Therefore, representatives of each communi ty will represent each culture and as a result, the aquarium will be attracting everyone as its mission statement states. Additionally, as it name suggests, Diversity Programs at the New England Aquarium is an international community aquarium and therefore, coming up with a diverse workforce, will help the institution to work together towards the pursuit of a common vision and ideal. International community comes in all sizes and shapes, and therefore, they will represent an amazing diverse people in their values, in terms of economic, social, political, ecological as well as spiritual. The Aquarium opened its doors in 1969, and constructed the very first successful modern day aquarium. Its designs are innovative and the giant ocean tank

In World War 1 Italy has been allied with Germany and Spain enjoyed neutrality, when the depression started Italy was at crisis majority and Spain is starting to slide into a full-blown economic depression. The lifestyle Italy has is a consumer segmentation and Spains official language is Spanish, also called Castilian, and it is the first language of over 72% of the population. (eyeonSpain). Paolo Gentiloni is Italys prime minister and Spains prime minister is Mariano Rajoy. Italy in WW2 remained neutral (with the constant of Hitler), but it also declared war on France and Britain on June 10, 1940. Spain in WW2 was governed by a military dictatorship, but despite Francos own pro-Axis leanings and debt of gratitude to Mussolini and Hitler, the government was divided between Germanophiles and Anglophiles. When the war started,Juan Beigbeder Atienza,an Anglophile was the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Ital y and Spain share similar lifestyles, religious values and cultural heritages. In the 1920s and 1930s, a worldwide economic depression caused many people to lose faith in democracy and capitalism. Extreme ideals arose. Communists celebrated what they saw as the failure of capitalism. Benito was an italian WW1 veteran, he also led the fascists on a march on Rome, and King Emmanuel III, who had little faith in Italys parliamentary government. General Francisco is named head of the rebel Nationalist government in Spain. He also was a career soldier who rose through the ranks until the mid-1930s. When Italy gain popular support it seemed to be slipping into chaos. Spain had their food and cultural are also large factors affecting its popularity level. Rebuilding the economy in Italy. Mussolini jingoistic fascist party allied itself with the equally fascist regime of Adolf Hitler in Germany. Spain produces large crops of wheat, barley, vegetables, tomatoes, olives, sugar beets ,citrus fruit, grapes, and cork. It is Italys Benito Mussolini who founded the fascist ideology. Mussolini sought to recreate the Great Roman Empire by use of a totalitarian rule and feeding of the fear of communism. In 1939, Hitler and Mussolini signed the Pact of Steel forming an alliance which is known as the Axis powers during WWII. Benito Mussolinis self-confessed thirst for military glory battled his acute intelligence, psychological acumen, and political shrewdness for control over his military policies. (History. com). On July 18, 1936, the Spanish Civil War begins as a revolt by right-wing Spanish military officers in Spanish Morocco and spreads to mainland Spain. (History. com). In July,1936,Franco joined the military uprising that precipitated the Spanish Civil War. Francisco took command of the most powerful segment and led it back to Spain. Italys political geography has been conditioned by this rugged landscape. With few direct roads between them, and with passage from one point to another traditionall y difficult, Italys towns and cities have a history of self-sufficiency, independence, and mutual mistrust. Visitors today remark on how unlike the town is from the one next to it,one marked differences is the cuisine and dialect that is the difference between Italy and the town next to it. Franco, however, firmly maintained his position of power, even after the assassination of Carrero Blanco in 1973. Although close to the Axis powers and despite their pressure, Franco kept Spain a nonbelligerent in World War II. He dismissed (1942) his vigorously pro-Axis minister and principal collaborator, Ramà ³n Serrano Sà ºÃƒ ±er. After the war Franco maneuvered to establish favorable relations with the United States and its allies. He further reduced the power of the Falange and erected the facade of a liberalized regime. During the next 10 years Franco enhanced his military reputation in a variety of commands and became identified politically with the conservative nationalist position. In 1934 he was appointed chief of the general staff by the rightist government, and he suppressed the uprising of the miners in Asturias. When the Popular Front came to power (Feb. , 1936), he was made military governor of the Canary Islands, a significant demotion. The similarities lifestyles of Italy are a consumer segmentation section in the report breaks down the Italys consumers by specific age groups. Spains similarities-religion plays a very important role in their lives. Italy is a nation embracing all creeds and religious where the relationships between state and church is regulated. Spains religious values are Catholic Christianity is by far the largest religion in Spain. Depression in Italy is the crisis majority influenced political and economical aspects in Italy. Spain is sliding into a full-blown economic depression with unemployment approaching levels. Works Cited Francisco Franco. . Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th Edition. US: Columbia UP, 2016. 1. Processing of Black and White Film

Today, we have contact with photography ubiquitously. But, do you realize that what you see has been created by photography? People have drawn and painted the world that surrounded them since ancient times. However, the first recording of a negative image on a light-sensitive material was first achieved by Frenchman, J. Niepce in 1826. He made the first permanent photograph with a camera â€Å"obscura†. Although, the exposure took eight hours, he wanted to find a different process. Another pioneer of photography was the British inventor William Talbot. He invented a special process named calotype or talbotype that created negative images from which a positive could be printed. On the other hand, in 1884, George Eastman invented the dry gel, which required paper or film. He developed the technology of film; and the same technology is used by film cameras today. A few years later, in June 1888, Eastman Kodak introduced to the public the first film camera. By the 1901, photography began to be available to the public. Today, the developing of black and white negative is almost obsolete. With new digital technology, almost nobody uses film cameras, except for some professional photographers. What do you need to develop your film? First, you need to go outside and take some pictures. Once you have the film ready to be developed you need some materials to process the film. To start developing your own film you need to have a room that is light proof, a metal or plastic film tank, reel, a can opener, scissors, chemicals, darkroom timer, a sink, and a thermometer. One of the places where you can find equipment that you need for your dark room and to process your film is B&H photo (http://www. bhphotovideo. com). B&H photo is an online store for professional photographers where they offer affordable prices and used equipment. For example, a roll of 24 roll of TMAX 400 cost about $3. 50 plus shipping cost. Moreover, you can also research if you have any photo stores w here you live. Last semester I took a photo class at school. I check frequently the bulletin board, where students posted equipment for sale. However, there are important steps to follow to process of black and white film. The first step is that you need to load the film on the reel. Before you do that I suggest you to prepare the equipment that you will need. Next, lay the tools in front of you; you will need scissors, a can opener, and a film tank.Remember that the negative is light sensitive and even a small amount of light will destroy the film. When you are ready, you can turn off the light and use the can opener to separate the film from the cassette. Next, unwind the film and cut the end with scissors. Now you are ready to load the film on the plastic or metal reel. I prefer the metal reel; because it is much to use. You need to gently slide the film into the slot and roll the film slowly on the reel until is loaded. When you are done, you can place the loaded reel in the fil m tank. When the negative is secure in the tank, you can turn on the light. The next step is to prepare the chemicals. It is also important to know what kid of film you use. I use TRIMAX400 most of the time. Although, you know the type of the film, it is time to get ready the developer. You might ask what kind of developer is the best. There are so many to choose from. I use Kodak D-76 developer. It is a fine-grain general-purpose developer. The measurements are 4 ounces of the developer mixed with 4 ounces of water. The next step is to check the temperature. Remember, to always rinse your thermometer before you use it and after you done.It is very important to check the temperature chart. For example, if the thermometer shows 68 °F, the developing time is 6 minutes. The chemicals should be at least 68 °F, because some chemicals do not respond to temperatures lower than 65 °F. Now you are ready to set the darkroom timer for 6 minutes. Time is a very important factor in developi ng the film. Warning: if you keep the film too long in the developer the film will turn out overexposed or if you finish early the negative is going to be underexposed. After you pour the developer into the film tank, you need to agitate the tank every minute for 15 seconds. It is very important to agitate the film, because this removes air bubbles from the film. Once the time is up you need to pour the developer into the sink. The following step is to rinse the film tank at least twice. Another important step is to add fixer. The fixer is the chemical used in the final step to stabilize the image. Fixing time takes 4 minutes. Do not forget to set your darkroom timer for 4 minutes. You need to remember also to agitate the tank every minute for 15 seconds. After the time is up you need to pour the fixer back into the container. When you done, the film is fixed and it is ready to be exposed to the light. But, before that you have to rinse the tank few times with fresh water. It is very important to wash your negative, to remove the exhausted chemicals. Warning: If you do not wash your negative enough you could permanently damage the image. The last step is to add a few drops of photoflow to the tank film and keep it for 30 seconds. Do not agitate the tank film while the bath stop is in the tank. You need that to prevent the water from spotting the film as it dries. The remaining step is a final wash in the running water for at least 20 minutes. Afterward, the film is ready to hang and dry.Carefully handle one end of the film and lift the film from the reel. Remember, the negatives are extremely fragile so handle them carefully. Make sure the negatives do not to touch anything. Also, do not forget to slide gently the negative between your fingers. After the film is dry, you are ready to cut the negative and go to the dark room to make the prints. Store each negative in separate negative sleeve. Although this process is almost obsolete, some professional photographe rs and hobbyists are still developing their film and make prints in the dark room. Black and white photography is considered a fine art. With growing popularity of digital technology, the hobby is not as popular as before. To make sure your film is developed accurate you have to absolutely follow the step that I present above. This process of your own film will give you a greater enjoyment and understanding of the true art of photography. I took a photo class last semester and I enjoyed every minute I spent in the dark room to develop my film and then made my prints. I also learned about lighting and shadows. Black and white photography divulged different feelings and shows different emotions than color film.

Trifles Gender Conflict Essay Essay Example

Trifles Gender Conflict Essay Essay Example Trifles Gender Conflict Essay Paper Trifles Gender Conflict Essay Paper Essay Topic: Trifles In the drama Trifles. at that place seems to be one struggle that stays consistent through the full drama. The struggle of gender functions between male and female. The drama itself is about the probe and slaying of Mr. Wright. Who has been found dead in his bed that looks to be a slaying from a rope around his cervix. The drama takes topographic point where the organic structure was found. inside the Wrights family. Investigating is County Attorney George Henderson. and Sheriff Henry Peters. Included in the drama besides is Lewis Hale a adjacent husbandman. and the married womans of Mr. Peters and Mr. Hale. The background of the drama was written by Susan Glaspell in 1916 as a adult female sensitive to feminist issues. An evident ground of why gender struggle is so apparent through the full drama. From the really start of the drama you can see the separation between brand and female. â€Å"The adult females have come in easy. and stand shut together near the door. † ( 1366 ) Susan Glaspell has a really good authorship manner in her stage way of giving the drama a cliff-hanging feel. From the really first line of the drama you can see the separation between male and female. â€Å"This feels good. Come up to the fire. ladies. † Says the County Attorney. â€Å"I’m not-cold. † responds Mrs. Peters. † ( 1367 ) Intriguing and thoughtful the struggle continues straight after. â€Å"not much of a housekeeper. would you state ladies? † says Hale. â€Å"Theirs is a great trade of work to be done on a farm. † Mrs. Hale answers and goes on to state â€Å"Men’s custodies aren’t ever every bit clean as they might be. † ( 1369 ) Continuously throughout the drama the adult females when asked for sentiments defend their sex. They stand their land multiple times. as if Susan Glaspell is seeking to acquire work forces of her clip to see life through a woman’s eyes and the prejudice differences. The work forces finish their probe up downstairs and continue upstairs to go forth the ladies to roll up and look into on some things at the petition of Mrs. Wright. The minute the work forces leave Mrs. Hale provinces. â€Å"I’d hatred to hold work forces coming into my kitchen spying about and knocking. † This line creates tenseness and animus of how the ladies feel towards the work forces. The ladies continue to speak about Mrs. Wright and the alterations they have heard about her over the old ages. â€Å"I heard she use to have on pretty apparels and be lively. when she was Minnie Foster. one of the town misss singing in the choir. But that-oh. that was 30 old ages ago. † ( 1370 ) This starts to arouse ideas of what could hold changed such a nice lady into a slaying suspect. The remainder of the scene is composed of Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters seeking to make up ones mind if they think Mrs. Wright was truly capable of making such a hideous act. Mrs. Peters says â€Å" Mr. Peters says it looks bad for her. Mr. Henderson is atrocious sarcastic in a address and he’ll make merriment of her sayin’ she didn’t wake up. † ( 1370 ) They continue on in the probe and happen a comforter. Mrs. Hale says â€Å" I wonder if she was merely traveling to quilt it or knot it! † followed by a sarcastic response by the Sheriff â€Å"They wonder if she was traveling to quilt it or merely knot it! † ( 1371 ) It could now non be more apparent that the work forces do non take anything serious that the adult females are stating. As if they are naif and cognize nil a adult male could cognize. The work forces so proceed out to the barn to look for more grounds as if there could be something out at that place. The adult females stay in and go on to look around. They find a bird coop that has been broke unfastened and look to be handled approximately. â€Å"I s’pose possibly the cat got it. † says Mrs. Hale. â€Å"No. she didn’t have a cat† replied Mrs. Peters. ( 1372 ) This comes of import in the gender struggle subsequently in the drama as the work forces arrive back subsequently. The adult females continue on to garner things for Mrs. Wright while she is in gaol. They so make the startling find of the dead bird. Somebody-wrung-its-neck. ’’ Says Mrs. Peters. ( 1373 ) This both frightens the ladies and so they start to hear the work forces come back and conceal what they have merely discovered. â€Å"Well. ladies have you decided whether she was traveling to quilt it or knot it? † The County Attorney says. â€Å"We think she was traveling to-knot it. † Replied Mrs. Peters. ( 1373 ) A sarcastic inquiry from the work forces non cognizing this tied straight into the slaying. The County Attorney asks about the bird and the Mrs. Hale replied â€Å"We believe the cat got it. ( 1373 ) A much different answer so earlier in the drama when they knew she had no cat. The work forces so leave to look into back upstairs and give the ladies a minute to truly hold on the find they have merely made. After the silence. they talk about Mr. Wright how he would of hated the bird and hated kids. He hated vocalizing and referred to him as being the ground Mrs. Wright must of stopped. They lived out in the center of no where with non many contacts with anyone. and made a point to see the bird was all Mrs. Wright had.

The Crucible4 essays

The Crucible4 essays There are several similarities and differences between the 1996 movie The Crucible and the truth about what happened in the Salem Witch Trials. Even though there were differences between the movie The Crucible and the actual Salem Witch Trials, the movie summarized the trials very well. Ever since Increase Mather and thirteen or fourteen other pastors signed what was called the Cases of Conscience document, the village of Salem was in major controversy. The farms around there hadnt been farmed in months and the village wasnt looking good. Some of the Puritans blamed this on the witches (A Village Possessed). It was late one night when two girls by the names of Elizabeth Parris and Abigail Williams went out into the woods to a camp fire where they found a dozen other girls their age in a circle led by a person named Tituba (The Crucible). Every girl was acting a little strange, but Elizabeth and Abigail were acting a little stranger. Right when things got out of hand, the girls were discovered by Rev. Samuel Parris, pastor of Salem Village and father of Elizabeth Parris. All of the girls scattered and so did Tituba. The true side of the story is that the two girls had made a homemade crystal ball and dropped the white of an egg over it trying to see if they had any visions. Like a lot of the other girls in the village, Abigail and Elizabeth were trying to see into the future to learn who their husbands would be and to see what their husbands would do for a living. The girls went ahead and did this even though they knew that playing with the occult practice of fortune telling was f orbidden. The girls knew that tampering with the business of God could open the door to Satan (Rice Jr.). It was just a coincidence that something went very wrong that day. The two girls went to bed that night, but didnt awake the next morning. They just lied motionless in bed like they were in a coma. The girl...

Contract Law and Case Law Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Contract Law and Case Law - Coursework Example As the report declares the doctrine of consideration is considered by most people in the legal profession to be the most problematic doctrine within common law . There has been some considerable debate for a number of years as to whether this doctrine should be removed based on the confusion that is noted as often arising often result from its application, however a concrete decision is yet to be made in this respect. This paper stresses that lawyers often pose the argument that all contracts must as a matter of necessity be supported by an agreed upon consideration. In line with this argument, if an individual happens to promise anther party that he will perform a given act without there being any promise made in return, such an agreement is technically unenforceable as there will be no consideration exchanged in the contract agreement. In such a situation, the promisor is considered to be losing something without any gain while the promise on the other hand is considered to have made a gain without incurring any loss. However, if a promise happens to be made and the promise actually offers a promise in return, such an agreement is considered as having consideration and the contract that is entered into is legally enforceable. The case of Williams V. Roffey Bros & Nicholls is considered to have change the traditional rules surrounding the doctrine of consideration as had been set out in the rulin g that was made in the case of Stilk v. Myrik.
